Boise Public Schools Education Foundation Awards More than $146,837.00 in Service Learning, Healthy Living and Innovation Grants for 2017 – 2018

(BOISE) – The Boise Public Schools Education Foundation announced today that it has awarded grants of over $146,837.00 to 76 classrooms, programs and schools in the Boise School District for the upcoming school year. Since its inception in 1987, the Foundation has awarded more than $2 million to more than 1,500 projects through the Teacher Grant Program.

“Our primary mission is to direct resources as closely to the classroom as possible,” said Jennifer Henderson, Executive Director for the Foundation. “With these grants, we’re able to make a difference in the life of thousands of students in the our schools.”

The Innovation Grant program began in 1985 as the Teacher Grant program and has contributed more than $2 million to more than 1,500 projects. Highlights of this year’s grants include money for career-focused field trips, video analysis equipment, a spin bike studio, food pantry, iPads, as well as library books on Biology, Foreign Languages, Reading, English and Science.

The Foundation also thanks the Allen Family Foundation for contributing more than $37,000, as well as the Albertsons Foundation for contribution more than $25,000 to the Innovation Grant program.
