The Foundation has awarded more than 1,900 AP scholarship over the last four years. AP exam scholarships target low to moderate income families, reducing a student’s obligation from $90 down to an average of $15 per exam.
By eliminating or reduced the cost of Advanced Placement exams, AP scholarships not only allow AP students to realize the benefits of their hard work, but can result in college credit and the cost-savings of completing college-level coursework in high school.
Boise Schools offer at least 23 AP courses and give 3400 AP exams a year. About 40% of juniors and seniors take AP exams with 74% of those earning college credit. Research shows that even taking one AP exam increases a student’s success in college.
